Now, the newest of the watermelon trends is a recipe for watermelon Jell-O.

What is watermelon Jell-O?

Watermelon Jell-O is exactly what it sounds like: a mixture of sweet juicy fruit encased in refreshing Jell-O all inside of a fresh watermelon. If you are feeling a little tired of plain fruit or looking for a way to impress friends and family, this is the perfect summer creation. Below is the simple recipe so you can see for yourself how quick you can make this sweet treat and how incredible it tastes.

How do you make watermelon Jell-O?

She begins by cutting a large watermelon just at the top so the rind still keeps its bowl-like shape. She then scoops out all the watermelon, leaving her with just the rind to act as a mold for her Jell-O. You won't use this for the recipe, so make enjoy as is, freeze for frozen drinks, or juice into watermelon juice. After this, she adds a variety of different fruits to the empty watermelon including strawberries, grapes, raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries. While she chose these, any combination of fruits that you enjoy would work perfectly, too. Then, she begins to make the gelatin. She boils three cups of water, adds four packets of gelatin, and then a quarter cup of sugar. After letting this mixture cool for a few minutes, she spoons it into a watermelon filled with fruit and puts it in the refrigerator for about four hours. Once it sets, My cuts it open to reveal a beautiful fruit pattern suspended in the jello. If you want to make it your own, you could add vodka to the gelatin while still liquid for a boozy option.
